Adamawa police operatives confront suspected kidnappers, arrest two
Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected kidnappers.
The arrests were made after the operatives engaged a gang of suspects in a gun duel from which some other suspects escaped.
Personnel from the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit, in collaboration with local hunters, got at the suspects while carrying out a coordinated raid on kidnappers hideouts in Ngurore Forest and Gborom Mountain,Yola South and Demsa LGAs.
This is according to a press statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed that the Command raided the hideout of the armed criminals, who, on sighting the operatives, opened fire, prompting a gun duel and leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
Nguroje identified the apprehended suspects as Ahmadu Mohammed and Halilu Mohammed.
He disclosed further that two AK-47 rifles, 66 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition, and one pump action, a Dane gun as well as charms, were taken from the suspects.
