UCL: Lookman creates new Nigerian record in Atalanta’s loss to Club Brugge

Ademola Lookman created a new Nigerian record in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Lookman scored Atalanta’s only goal in the 3-1 defeat to Belgian Pro League champions, Club Brugge at the Gewiss Stadium.

The 27-year-old became the first Nigerian to score in four consecutive Champions League games.

The winger’s previous goals came against VFB Stuttgart, Real Madrid and Sturm Graz.

Lookman, however, will not have the opportunity to extend the record this season following Atalanta’s elimination from the competition.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side lost the play-off tie 5-2 on aggregate.
