Zamfara: PDP debunks sponsoring thugs to attack APC members

The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has denied the claim that it sponsored thugs to attack members of the major opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

The party challenged the APC to provide proof that the ruling party in the state was responsible, urging them to convince the people of Zamfara that their allegation is true.

The Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Haliru Andi, while responding to inquiries about the APC’s claim via a WhatsApp message, said there is a need for the APC to prove its claim beyond a reasonable doubt by revealing the names of the PDP members who allegedly sponsored the attack and providing evidence that the attackers were members of the PDP.

He advised the public against accepting any claim by the APC in the state unless it is proven in a competent court of law.

The PDP urged the APC to call on its leadership in the state, as well as prevail on its member in the House of Representatives, Abdulmalik Zubairu, who organized an illegal assembly in Bungudu town, to always respect the rule of law.

The PDP assured the law-abiding citizens of Zamfara State that it will work with security agencies to hold Abdulmalik Zubairu responsible for any breach of law and order that may result from the illegal assembly organized by him and his rented crowd.

It reminded the APC that it is not yet time for the 2027 political campaigns and, therefore, urged them to allow the people of Zamfara to live in peace
