Black Satellites of Ghana head coach, Desmond Ofei, is relieved to avoid eternal rivals Nigeria in the group stage of the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
The draw for the biennial competition was conducted at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday.
Ghana are drawn in Group A with hosts Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Tanzania, and a yet-to-be-determined team from the UNIFFAC region.
The Flying Eagles are placed in a difficult group with Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa.
The Black Satellites lost 2-1 to Nigeria in the final of the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Togo last year.
“We’re happy that we’re not in Group B because that’s a very interesting group,” Ofei told Joy Prime Sports.
