Masters of the Universe Casts Deadpool Star as The Sorceress, Fisto Actor Also Announced
The live-action Masters of the Universe movie has added two new cast members.
Travis Knight is working on a live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe for Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel. Nicholas Galitzine has been cast in the role of He-Man in the movie, which is based on the 1980s cartoon series and toy line.
Who has joined the cast of Masters of the Universe?
Amazon MGM Studios has announced that Morena Baccarin has been tapped to play The Sorceress in Masters of the Universe, while Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson has been cast as Malcolm/Fisto, the latter of whom is a villain-turned-hero.

Baccarin is best known for playing Vanessa in Marvel’s Deadpool franchise. She also played Adria in Stargate SG-1 and Inara Serra in Firefly, while she’s additionally been in television shows such as Homeland, The Mentalist, The Flash, Gotham, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and more.
Jóhannesson has starred in episodes of Game of Thrones, Vikings: Valhalla, Succession, and The Witcher. His filmography includes 2017’s Atomic Blonde, 2018’s The Sisters Brothers, 2020’s Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, 2025’s Captain America: Brave New World, and more.
The cast of Masters of the Universe also includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops.
Plot details remain under wraps at this time. The screenplay comes from Chris Butler, while previous drafts were worked on by David Callaham, Aaron Nee, and Adam Nee. Knight’s filmography includes 2016’s Kubo and the Two Strongs, 2018’s Bumblebee, and 2025’s Wildwood.
Masters of the Universe currently has a June 5, 2026, release date.
