FG approves appointment of Acting Vice-Chancellor for Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has approved the appointment of Professor Onyeka Aloysius Chijioke as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri. The appointment, which takes effect from February 10, 2025, will last for a maximum period of six (6) months.

As Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chijioke is tasked with the responsibility to facilitate the process for the emergence ofa substantive Vice-Chancellor before the expiration of his tenure. However, he is not eligible to apply for the positionw hen it is advertised.

Prior to his appointment, Professor Chijioke served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University (KOMU), Ideato, Imo State, Nigeria.

The Honourable Minister extends his congratulations to the newly appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor and looks forward to a smooth transition in the Unjiversity 's leadership.
