John Travolta To Lead JFK Thriller Movie November 1963

John Travolta has been tapped to headline the planned JFK thriller movie November 1963, with Oscar-nominated filmmaker Roland Joffé (The Killing Fields) attached to direct.

Sam Giancana’s nephew Nicki Celozzi wrote the script for November 1963. Celozzi is also producing the movie, with Giancana’s daughter Bonnie Giancana executive producing. Travolta is set to portray Chicago Outfit’s mobster Johnny Roselli.

Who else is in the November 1963 cast?

In addition to Travolta, other actors that are set to lead November 1963 are Mandy Patinkin (Homeland, Criminal Minds) and Dermot Mulroney (Living In Oblivion, Anyone but You). Per Deadline’s report, Patinkin will be playing Chicago Outfit head Anthony Accardo, while Mulroney is attached to star as Giancana’s bodyguard Chuckie Nicoletti. Additional cast members have yet to be announced.

The JFK thriller will reportedly revolve around the 48-hour period surrounding President John F. Kennedy’s assassination. Kennedy served as the 35th president of the United States from 1961 until his assassination in November of 1963.

The film sheds light on crime group the Chicago Outfit’s alleged involvement in the assassination and draws directly from first-hand accounts, including insights from the family of crime boss Sam Giancana,” the plot description reads, Courtesy of Deadline.

Travolta is a two-time Oscar nominee known for his appearances in Pulp Fiction, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Face/Off, Carrie, Get Shorty, Primary Colors, The Thin Red Line, Blow Out, and Hairspray.

Patinkin, an Emmy and Tony winner, is best known for his roles in The Princess Bride, Chicago Hope, The Music of Chance, Impromptu, Alien Nation, Yentl, The House on Carroll Street, and The Good Fight.

Meanwhile, Mulroney is a SAG nominee actor best known for starring in My Best Friend’s Wedding, Zodiac, Longtime Companion, Scream VI, and more.
