The Creep Tapes Renewed for Season 2, Mark Duplass Issues Statement

Found footage horror series The Creep Tapes, which serves as the third installment in the acclaimed Mark Duplass-led Creep franchise, has been renewed for a second season at Shudder.

The first season of The Creep Tapes premiered on Shudder and AMC+ on November 15, 2024. It hails from writers and executive producers Duplass and Patrick Brice, who directed Creep and Creep 2. Brice also starred in the first Creep movie and has directed all six episodes of The Creep Tapes.

What did Mark Duplass say about The Creep Tapes’ Season 2 renewal?

“We made the first season of The Creep Tapes completely independently, so we were able to truly and unabashedly get our freak on. The fact that so many of you watched it that Shudder not only asked us for more but asked us to go even further this time around? That’s just… really, really unsettling. And terrifically exciting,” Duplass said in a statement shared by Deadline.

The episodic series follows serial killer Peachfuzz, who was first introduced in the 2014’s Creep as Josef. The second season of The Creep Tapes — which will also consist of six episodes — is expected to premiere later this year, set to explore more of the serial killer’s victims.

Duplass returned in the Creep franchise, this time as Jeff Daniels, Father Tom Durkin, and Kyle. The first season featured guest stars Josh Fadem, Josh Ruben, Krisha Fairchild, and more.

“The miniseries continues to unravel the mind of a secluded serial killer who lures videographers into his world with the promise of a paid job documenting his life. Unfortunately, as the tape rolls, the killer’s questionable intentions surface with his increasingly odd behavior and the victims will learn they may have made a deadly mistake,” the synopsis reads.

No release date has been set yet for The Creep Tapes Season 2.
