Copa del Rey: Two clubs qualify for semi-finals
At least two teams have booked their place in the Copa del Rey semi-final stage.
The teams are Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid.
This follows the conclusion of Wednesday’s quarterfinal tie between Real Madrid and Leganés.
Real Madrid went 2-0 up before the half-hour mark with goals from Modrić and Endrick.
However, Juan Cruz reduced the deficit from the penalty spot.
In the second half, Leganés equalised when a shot from Juan Cruz deflected in off Mendy.
Gonzalo then scored a late goal in stoppage time to give Carlo Ancelotti’s side the win.
Waploaded reports that Atlético Madrid had already booked their place in the last four after beating Getafe 5-0.
Meanwhile, Valencia will face Barcelona, and Real Sociedad will tackle Osasuna in the other Copa del Rey quarter-final fixtures tonight.
