A fake lawyer, Tega Ikupa have been arrested by the police in Delta State while preparing a Deed of Conveyance with the seal of a Sapele based lawyer, Israel Onoge Esq.
Also arrested is the suspect’s sister-in-law. They’re currently in detention l.
The suspect was apprehended by some lawyers at the premises of the Magistrate Court 1, Effurun on Monday morning.
The lawyers quickly called their colleague in Sapele, Israel Onoge who denied giving his seal to anybody to prepare a deed.
The lawyers promptly lodged a complaint at the Ebrumede Police Station after the suspect who gave his name as Tega Ikupa confessed that the deeds in his possession were given to him by his sister in-law.
Investigation commenced immediately and he the lady was arrested. The lady confessed that one surveyor prepared the deeds for her after collecting N80,000.
The Divisional Police Officer had also ordered the arrest of the alleged surveyor as the case is being investigated by the Police at Ebrumede.
The development is coming after another fake lawyer was arrested Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area.
