Suspected cattle rustlers arrested in Adamawa, weapons recovered

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested some suspected cattle rustlers.

The Command said Friday that working in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, operatives of the command arrested some members of a syndicate identified as having been terrorizing parts of the state.

“The first group of suspects: Danladi Yakubu, 35 years; Samson James, 17; Usman Sule, 30; and Usman Mohammed, 18; were apprehended at the Numan Bridge military checkpoint,” the command said in a statement signed by its public Relations Officer, DSC Nyako Baba.

The statement said the suspects were intercepted while they were attempting to transport seven stolen cows to Gombe State using a white 18-seater Innoson bus with registration number SMK417AY.

“A cache of charms, cutlasses, and dangerous weapons was also recovered from them,” the NSCDC stated.

The corps recalled a similar incident earlier in the month, January 25, when some suspected cattle rustlers along the Numan-Jalingo Road were apprehended.

The NSCDC explained that in the incident, the suspects: Haruna Ibrahim (48 years), Muhammad Ali (20), Joshua Isa (24), and Usmanu Buba (41) were caught conveying two cows in a Sienna bus with registration number GWA492HH.
