Marvel Studios’ brand new show, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, has achieved a great score from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Apart from this, the early reviews depict it has also managed to win over the critics. Starring Hudson Thames as the titular web-slinger, the Marvel animated series debuted on the streaming platform, Disney+ with its first two episodes on January 29.

Critics adore Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in reviews

Following in the footsteps of X-Men ’97, Marvel Studios’ latest animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, has created a lasting impact on viewers. While the story revolves around the protagonist Peter Parker, critics are lauding the series for going a fresh route for the superhero and bringing in new support characters.

Matt Morrison of SuperHeroHype in his review of the first two episodes asserted that “the show’s writing and voice acting are great.” However, he did point out the animation style of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man as “its biggest weakness.” Talking about the few changes in the show, Morrison added, “Changes make Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man seem fresh yet familiar to long-time Spider-fans.”

Meanwhile, Daniel Fienberg of The Hollywood Reporter described the animated show as “bright, high-energy and inoffensively young-skewing.” He further explained his views on the way Parker’s story shapes up in the show and added, “This is a youthful, wide-eyed approach to Parker and to the story at large.”

Additionally, AV Club’s Jarrod Jones expressed his fascination with the show and stated that it “is surprisingly mature for being this energetic and squishy.” He further stated that the show “treats its teen characters with respect by not insulting their intelligence or limiting their growth.”

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man gets a strong Rotten Tomatoes score

Marvel’s show Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has achieved satisfactory ratings on review-aggregator websites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the latest Spider-Man animated show managed to get 96 percent on Tomatometer, based on 28 reviews, It also got 70 percent on the Popcornmeter. On the other hand, on Metacritic, the show scored 77, based on 10 critic reviews.
