AFCON 2025: Super Eagles can become champions again – Yobo

Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, believes the team can win the title at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria came close to winning a fourth AFCON title at the last edition of the competition before succumbing 2-1 to host, Cote d’Ivoire in the final.

The Super Eagles will battle former champions, Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, Cranes of Uganda and Taifa Stars of Tanzania in the group stage at AFCON 2025.

Yobo believed that the Eagles have the quality to win the competition.

The former defender, however, said it is important for the team to start the competition well.

“We have a very good team, the players have been improving as they showed at the last AFCON,” Yobo told Ojb Sports.

“It is never easy, but getting out of the group stage has not been a problem for us.

“It is for us to start well and build on the momentum.

“It is about time we go one better and get our hands on the trophy again.”
