EPL: I’m happy with what we have – Maresca on Chelsea’s interest in Garnacho
Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has spoken out about the club’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho amid rumours the Argentina international could leave Manchester United this January transfer window.
Garnacho had emerged as a surprise transfer target for Chelsea as they look to strengthen Maresca’s squad.
Man United are not keen to sell the 20-year-old but may be forced to do so due to their financial situation, with Napoli interested in the winger’s signature..
Napoli manager Antonio Conte wants Garnacho to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who has joined Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s away Premier League tie with Manchester City on Saturday, Maresca seemed to suggest he had no interest in signing another winger, insisting that he is happy with his current attacking players.
Asked about the Garnacho links, the Italian told reporters: “I’m happy with what we have in this moment.
“On the right side it is Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke, on the left we have Jadon Sancho.
“We had Misha [Mykhailo Mudryk] but he is not with us. Tyrique George is a young profile that can help us.”
