Champions League: 9 teams eliminated from competition ahead of final match day

Nine teams have already been eliminated from this season’s UEFA Champions League ahead of the final match day.

These clubs have no remote chance of qualifying for the knockout stages no matter their result next week.

They are: Bologna, Sparta Prague, RB Leipzig, Girona, Red Star Belgrade, Sturm Graz, Salzburg, Slovan Bratislavia and Young Boys.

With one game left each, Bologna have only recorded five points in the league phase and are in 28th place.

Sparta Prague have four points in 29th place with a -12 goal difference.

Girona, Red Star Belgrade, Sturm Graz and Salzburg all have three points each.

However, both Slovan Bratislavia and Young Boys are yet to win a single game in the competition and occupy the two bottom positions.

As it stands, Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb are also in danger of getting eliminated from the competition too.
