Police operatives dislodge criminal hideout in Adamawa, kill suspected kidnapper

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command and local security outfits have dislodged a hideout of suspected kidnappers and killed one of the suspects.

In an operation the police said was geared to reactivate its internal control mechanism to prevent kidnapping activities, the operatives raided an identified kidnappers hideout in Ngurore, a community in Yola South Local Government Area.

“The criminals who were armed with offensive weapons, upon sighting our gallant men attempted to resist arrest thereby opening fire to scare our men but when the fire shots were returned, one of them was down while others escaped,” the police command said in a statement.

The statement which was signed by Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje said investigation led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle with five rounds of live ammunition.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, commended the bold step taken by the officers and men of the command and their stakeholders,” the command stated.

It called for more collaboration to get to the fleeing suspects and bring them before the law.
