Thierry Henry to land new managerial job

Former Monaco manager, Thierry Henry is a contender to land the Belgium national team job.

The position has been made vacant after Domenico Tedesco was recently sacked.

Tedesco had been under pressure following a series of disappointing results for Belgium.

He won just two of his past 10 games in charge of the team.

Tedesco’s last match in charge saw Belgium loss 1-0 in the Nations League against Israel last November.

However, according to Belgian outlet Le Soir, Henry has emerged as a contender to land the job.

The report added that Belgium federation chiefs also considered the likes of Erik ten Hag, Mark van Bommel and Xavi for the job, although none of these coaches remain in contention.

Henry led the France Olympic team to a second-place finish at Paris 2024 football event.

His team were defeated 5-3 by Spain in the final of the men’s football tournament.
