Transfer: Ratcliffe blocks Rashford from joining EPL rivals

Manchester United’s power brokers will not sanction a move to their Premier League rivals for Marcus Rashford.
The 27-year-old has already admitted he is ready for “a new challenge.”

This has led to significant interest in Rashford within England and abroad.

However, United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe would not be willing to sanction a switch to their rivals.

This decision will leave teams like Chelsea, Tottenham, and West Ham bitterly disappointed.

Ratcliffe’s stance means Rashford is likely to join a foreign club in the coming weeks.

United know they will have to supplement a significant portion of Rashford’s £350,000-a-week wages to get him off the books in the January transfer window.

Ratcliffe is unwilling to do that and potentially aid a domestic rival in finishing above Manchester United by the end of the season.

AC Milan are believed to be leading the race to sign the England international and have held talks with Rashford’s representatives. No agreement has been reached, however, with plenty of other clubs also lurking in the background.
