Uproars As Police Arrest Officer In Raheem Okoya Video

Nigerians on social media are upset after an officer was arrested due to a viral video showing Naira abuse involving the sons of Lagos businessman, Chief Rasaq Okoya.

Waploaded reported that Raheem Okoya, the billionaire’s son and a musician, posted a video where a policeman assisted him in carrying large amounts of cash while he promoted his new song, Credit Alert.

The video shows the officer with the boys, who are happily dancing and throwing money at each other.

The Police released a statement on Friday confirming that the officer has been identified and is now in custody for disciplinary reasons.

They emphasized that the officer’s behavior is not ethical and does not align with Police values.

“The policeman captured in the recent viral video shared by the sons of the lagos businessman, Chief Okoya, where they were abusing the naira, has been identified and detained for disciplinary action. The involvement of the policeman has been condemned, as it’s unethical. We will always strive hard to uphold the sanctity, credibility, and core values of the police. Thanks,” the statement read.

Following the statement, a number of netizens commented to express their concerns about the Police’s choice and their silence regarding Chief Okoya’s son featured in the video.
