Euphoria Season 3 Will Be ‘Groundbreaking,’ Says Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo is gearing up to return as Ali for Euphoria Season 3. While the show has been off the air since early 2022, production is expected to commence later this month.

While speaking with Jessie and Lennie Ware for the Table Manners podcast, Domingo teased his return to Euphoria when asked about his upcoming projects. Despite not seeing a script, Domingo spoke with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson about Season 3, which promises to be “groundbreaking.”

“I go back to my show Euphoria,” Domingo said. “I haven’t read [the script], but [Sam Levinson] told me some of it, and it’s going to be groundbreaking.”

Who is involved in Euphoria Season 3 besides Colman Domingo?

Little is known about Euphoria Season 3. Since the Season 2 finale aired in February 2022, the series has experienced significant setbacks and interruptions behind the scenes. The SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, along with the tragic deaths of actor Angus Cloud and producer Kevin Turen, delayed production indefinitely. Also, Levinson and HBO reportedly had creative differences for Season 3, further pushing back the start date.

Most of Euphoria’s core actors, including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer, are expected to return. Like Domingo, much of the cast have not seen any scripts.

“I haven’t read anything yet, but I’m excited to see what everyone has been working on and what the future looks like for Euphoria,” Zendaya told Vanity Fair in November. “I don’t really have much of an answer except for right now it’s set to start shooting in January.”

Due to the cast aging out of high school, Euphoria Season 3 is expected to include a time jump. HBO and Max’s Casey Bloys confirmed Season 3 should start production sometime this month.

“I think we have a start date, mid-to-late January,” Bloys said. “Nothing’s changed. Somebody said something online, and then this whole thing started. We are shooting the season. I have read the scripts. We’re happy. We’re moving ahead. All of the actors.”

Season 3 will consist of eight episodes for a rumored 2026 release date.
