Scream 7 Logo Revealed, Director Issues Statement as Filming Starts

Filming for Scream 7 is officially underway. On Instagram, director Kevin Williamson posted a photo of the clapperboard from the set with the Scream 7 logo. Despite being warned to not post about the movie, Williamson hopes the people at Paramount and Spyglass will forgive him after having “one of the best days of his life.”

“What an extraordinary day I had working with an amazing and talented cast and crew,” Williamson wrote. “They brought their ‘A’ game and had my back every step of the way. I’m so very grateful for this opportunity and to Wes Craven, who was on my mind through it all.”

Check out the Scream 7 logo and Williamson’s post below:

Who is involved in Scream 7?

After skipping Scream VI due to a contract dispute, Neve Campbell headlines Scream 7 as Sidney Prescott. Campbell is not the only actor to reprise a role from previous Scream entries. Courteney Cox is back as Gale Weathers, while Mason Gooding returns to play Chad Meeks-Martin.

Isabel May joins the cast to play Sidney’s daughter. Other additions include Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, and Anna Camp.

Scream 5 and Scream VI stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega are noticeably absent from the cast. Barrera and Ortega played sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter. In November 2023, Barrera was fired from Scream 7 after her comments about the Israel-Hamas war. The next day, Ortega dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with Wednesday Season 2. However, reports later surfaced that Ortega’s exit was due to a contract disagreement.

Williamson directs Scream from a screenplay by Scream VI scribe Guy Busick. Williamson is the original author of the Scream franchise, having written Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4. James Vanderbilt, who has a story credit with Busick, will produce alongside Paul Neinstein and William Sherak.

Scream 7 opens in theaters on February 27, 2026.
