Fire consumes property worth millions of naira in Ibadan shops
Property worth millions of naira has been destroyed as a result of a fire incident that ravaged some shops in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred at the Tollgate area along the Lagos/ Ibadan expressway.
The incident according to sources occurred in the early hours of Friday.
It was learnt that no fewer than four shops were affected by the inferno.
It was learnt that property worth millions of naira and other items have been destroyed.
No life was lost in the incident, DAILY POST gathered.
The General Manager of Oyo State Fire Service Mr Yemi Akinyinka confirmed the development to DAILY POST.
Akinyinka while reacting said the incident was reported to the agency around 5.50am.
He added that the fire was traced to a naked fire unattended by the woman cooking in one of the four shops affected by the fire.
"No life was lost. The fire was traced to be a naked fire unattended to by the woman cooking in one of the four shops affected by the fire”.
