Invincible Creator Details Ideal Number of Seasons for Prime Video Show
Invincible creator Robert Kirkman has revealed how many seasons of the Prime Video series he’d ideally like there to be.
The first season of Invincible premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. A second season, which was divided into two different parts, followed in 2023 and 2024, while Invincible Season 3 is now scheduled to premiere in February 2025. Invincible was also renewed for a fourth season in July 2024.
The show is created by Kirkman, who co-created the Image Comics comic book series that the show is based on alongside Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. Simon Racioppa serves as the showrunner on Invincible.
Speaking with Collider, Kirkman revealed how many seasons Invincible will ideally have.
What did Robert Kirkman say about how many seasons of Invincible he wants?
“The way Simon and I have mapped out, where we would kinda follow the comic and where the breaks would be, roughly eight seasons. Could be seven, could be ten,” he said.
When asked if seven or eight is the truly ideal number of Invincible seasons, Kirkman said, “Or nine. I can be greedy.”
“Based on Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic book series, Invincible follows 19-year-old Mark Grayson, as he inherits his father’s superpowers and sets out to become Earth’s greatest defender, only to discover the job is more challenging than he could have ever imagined,” the synopsis for Invincible reads. “Everything changes as Mark is forced to face his past, and his future, while discovering how much further he’ll need to go to protect the people he loves.”
The voice cast of the series includes Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson, Sandra Oh as Debbie Grayson, J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man, Gillian Jacobs as Atom Eve, Andrew Rannells as William Clockwell, Zazie Beetz as Amber Bennett, Walton Goggins as Cecil Stedman, and more.
The first three episodes of Invincible Season 3 arrive on February 6, 2025. New episodes will continue to be released weekly through March 13, 2025.
