“I Learned Yoruba For Film Role”- Chioma Chukwuka Says
Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha shared how she got ready for her part in the new Netflix series, Seven Doors.
In this series, she plays an Igbo queen married to a Yoruba king, portrayed by Femi Adebayo.
The story explores themes of kingship, family, love, betrayal, and making amends. To prepare, she had to learn to speak Yoruba fluently.
She said, “I had to learn Yoruba for my role in Seven Doors. The Yoruba in the movie was not the regular one spoken in Lagos State, so I had to be very particular about the tone.”
