EPL: Arsenal set new record in English football after 5-1 win at Crystal Palace
Arsenal set a new goal scoring record in English football, following a 5-1 thrashing of Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
Gabriel Jesus scored twice in the first half, while Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice also scored a goal each.
This win saw the Gunners become the first top-flight side to score five or more goals in six different away games in all competitions in a single calendar year.
In February this year, Mikel Arteta’s men defeated West Ham and Burnley in back-to-back league away fixtures by a margin of 6-0 and 5-0 respectively.
Then on March 4, they thumped Sheffield United 5-0 at Bramall Lane.
During the 2024-25 campaign, they hammered Sporting CP 5-1 in Lisbon in the Champions League and then recorded 5-2 and 5-1 wins over West Ham and Palace in the Premier League.
