Adamawa: Police recover 364 bullets from suspected gunrunner

A suspected gunrunner has been arrested in Adamawa State and 365 rounds of live ammunition were allegedly recovered from him.

The Adamawa State Police Command, which arrested 34-year-old Sunday Moses, a resident of Kwatau village in Hong Local Government Area, said he was arrested for illegal and secret importing of ammunition into the state.

The command, in a statement on Tuesday evening by its Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the arrest of Sunday Moses came about from visibility policing and raiding of criminal hideouts and stop and search operations across the state to ensure a secured environment for the forthcoming yuletide and ongoing farm produce harvest season.

According to the police spokesman, the special operations started on the first day of December.
