Ballon d’Or: Bellingham names player that should have won award this year

Real Madrid midfielder, Jude Bellingham, has said Manchester City’s Rodri did not deserve to win the Ballon d’Or award this year.

According to Bellingham, his team-mate, Vinicius Junior deserved the prize.

Rodri was handed the Ballon d’Or during an event in Paris, France on October 28 ahead of Vinicius, who was widely considered as the favourite.

But Bellingham said: “In my opinion, the Ballon d’Or should have gone to Real Madrid. Particularly Vinicius.

“But that’s my opinion and nothing on Rodri, he’s a brilliant player… it’s just about our season.”

Vinicius was instrumental for the Spanish club as they won the LaLiga and Champions League titles.
