Disney has officially revealed The Fantastic Four: First Steps synopsis for Marvel Studios‘ highly-anticipated superhero movie. It is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 25, 2025.
What is The Fantastic Four: First Steps synopsis?
The official synopsis teases the titular team’s main mission in the upcoming MCU reboot, which will see them facing their most difficult challenge yet. It also confirmed Julia Garner’s character and her role in Galactus’ plans.
“Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is directed by Matt Shakman, who previously helmed all nine episodes of the WandaVision miniseries. The MCU reboot stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/ Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Additional cast members include Natasha Lyone (Poker Face), Julia Garner (Ozark) as a “Shalla-Bal version” of the Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson (Harry Potter) as Galactus, along with John Malkovich (Places in the Heart), Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird), and Natasha Lyonne (The Russian Doll) in undisclosed roles.
