Ondo Poll: Don’t yield to intimidation – PDP chairman, Damagum tells supporters

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democracy Party, PDP, Umar Damangum, has urged the party supporters in Ondo State not to yield to intimidation during Saturday’s governorship election.

Damangum made the call during the final campaign rally for the party’s governorship candidate, Mr Agboola Ajayi, on Thursday in Akure.

He asked the party’s supporters and electorate to cast their votes for the party and defend their votes till the final collation.

The national chairman stated that Saturday would be a day to decide the fate of the state through voting, urging the people of the state to “drive the All Progressives Congress, APC, away from government” with their votes.

According to him, when the PDP was in government in the state, a lot of achievements were recorded.

He said that if the PDP wins the Saturday election, an end would come to poverty and suffering in the state, citing Oyo and Osun States as states that had witnessed tremendous changes from the PDP government.

He described APC-led government in the state as bereft of policies and ideas, making the state lag behind in developmental strides.

Also speaking, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State said the party was united, asking voters to vote out the APC-led government.

Mohammed added that the state was known for the acquisition of knowledge, stating that “it should not be ruled by nonentities.”

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State asked the party’s supporters to go back to the grassroots and mobilise for more support for the party.

Makinde pleaded that nobody should fight but use their votes as a strength to end the APC-led government in the state.
