AFCON 2025 qualifiers: Osho delighted with Super Eagles invitation

Auxerre defender Gabriel Osho said he is extremely delighted with the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the international level.

Osho is among the 23 players invited by Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

The 26-year-old was called up to the Super Eagles for the first time in March 2024 but did not make his debut due to injury.

The former Luton Town player is, however, delighted to finally link up with his international teammates.

“I was invited before but couldn’t come because of injury and other things but when this invitation came, everything just aligned and I could finally join the team,” he told the Super Eagles media.

“I will just work as hard as I can; that’s what the fans can expect from me every single game. It’s important for everyone to work hard. For me, it’s important to put hard work into everything you do.

“On the front line, you see all the big names that are there; the country is full of talented players. It’s very competitive to get called up. It’s a great honour for me because I know there are a lot of quality players.”
