Peacemaker Season 2 Cast Highlighted in New Max Trailer Footage

HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery’s in-house streaming service Max recently unveiled a teaser trailer that offered a sneak peek at several of its upcoming projects slated to release in the remaining months of 2024 and 2025. This includes Peacemaker Season 2, which comes out on Max sometime in 2025.

The two-minute-long video includes the very first footage from Peacemaker Season 2. John Cena’s titular character makes an appearance, as do Freddie Stroma’s Adrian Chase / Vigilante, Danielle Brooks’ Leota Adebayo, and Jennifer Holland’s Emilia Harcourt. The teaser also showcases the live-action version of Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr.

The sophomore season of Peacemaker is part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe franchise. The series originally debuted on Max on January 13, 2022, and its first season was part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

Given that the above-mentioned footage shows Cena’s Christopher Smith / Peacemaker in action, it’s safe to assume that Season 2 will continue following the exploits of the jingoistic mercenary. Gunn, who created the series and serves as the showrunner, originally announced that he wanted to make a second season of Peacemaker in August 2021. But, the streaming giant officially greenlit in February 2022. Gunn confirmed in February 2024 that he had finished writing the scripts for all eight episodes of the series. Filming for Peacemaker Season 2 began while Superman featuring David Corenswet, a movie Gunn has directed, was in production. During his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, John Cena indicated that Peacemaker Season 2 could wrap production “just about Christmas” of 2024.

Notably, the trailer also contains footage from Dune: Prophecy, The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 3, Bookie Season 2, Somebody Somewhere Season 3 (which is currently airing), Get Millie Black, Creature Commandos, and Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North, all of which will come out in the last few months of 2024.
