Otti explains reason for relocating state university campus
The Abia State Government has defended its decision to relocate the Umuahia campus of Abia State University (ABSU) to the main campus in Uturu, located in Isuikwuato Local Government Area. Governor Alex Otti explained that the relocation aims to foster a more cohesive academic environment, encouraging collaboration across faculties and departments.
During his monthly media briefing, “Governor Alex Otti Speaks to Abians,” Otti assured the public that provisions are being made to address any logistical challenges stemming from the move, such as accommodation, electricity, and access to research resources. He added that the government is constructing new, multi-functional courtrooms and collaborating with USAID to renovate key water facilities, starting with the Ariaria, Abia North, and Ubakala schemes.
