Scary Movie’s Regina Hall Discusses Potential Return to Franchise Following Reboot News

Regina Hall is potentially interested in returning to the Scary Movie franchise.

Hall played Brenda Meeks in the first four movies of the Scary Movie spoof franchise, which includes 2000’s Scary Movie, 2001’s Scary Movie 2, 2003’s Scary Movie 3, and 2006’s Scary Movie 4. There was a Scary Movie 5 released in 2013; however, Hall was not a part of the cast.

It was announced in April 2024 that another Scary Movie is in the works from Paramount and Miramax. It was then revealed last month that the Wayans brothers were returning to write the new project.

In July 2024, Anna Faris, who also starred in the first four Scary Movie films, told People she’s only interested in playing her Cindy Campbell character again if Hall also returns.

What did Regina Hall say about potentially returning to the Scary Movie franchise?

Speaking with TV Insider, Hall said she would also potentially be joining the franchise again.

“Anna is great. I’m just very excited to know that the Wayans, who actually started the project out of their idea, are back on board and at the helm again,” Hall said. “I’m excited for them. We’ll see if Brenda is in this new world. I’m thrilled at the possibility that the band could get back together again. That would be fun.”

As of now, there’s been no official announcements regarding the Scary Movie reboot. Plot details remain under wraps at this time.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the new Scary Movie and work with each other again,” the Wayans Brothers previously said in a statement, via Deadline. “This is a franchise we created more than 20 years ago. We remember people laughing in the aisles and hope to see that happen again. We look forward to working with Jonathan Glickman and his team at the new Miramax to bring these laughs to theaters, where they belong. It’s a double reunion.”
