EPL: He was our best player – Maresca feels shame for Chelsea star
Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has admitted that he ‘feels shame’ for Christopher Nkunku because the Frenchman was the Blues’ best player during the pre-season.
Maresca stated this during his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League clash with FC Noah on Thursday.
“I feel shame for Christo Nkunku… because in pre season he was our best player.
“We had to adapt players so we moved him to striker knowing that he isn’t a number 9,” Maresca said.
Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023.
