The upcoming thriller drama, Wild Cherry, is being made under the supervision of Firebird Pictures, a production house owned by the BBC. Additionally, Nicole Lecky is helming the project as the creator, who previously worked with the BBC on the 2022 series Mood, which currently holds a score of 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
The cast of Wild Cherry was revealed to fans on Wednesday. Carmen Ejogo will play the role of Lorna, and Eve Best will portray Juliet. There are many other talents attached to star in the project, including Amelia May and Imogen Faires, who will feature as best friends Allegra and Grace, respectively.
Following the announcement, creator Nicole Lecky praised the amazing cast of Wild Cherry stating that working “with Carmen and Eve is such a dream, and they have brought Wild Cherry to life in the most special way. Wild Cherry has a brilliant ensemble cast of characters and I cannot wait for audiences to meet our Richford Lake residents.” (via Rolling Stone)
Furthermore, Ejogo and Best also expressed their thoughts on working with Lecky. Ejogo asserted, “Nicôle brings a fresh and less explored U.K. perspective to her storytelling which resonates with me personally.” Best also stated, “Nicôle’s brilliantly dark script really keeps me on my toes, which I love.”
