Max has released the official Sweethearts trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy starring the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka. The film is scheduled to make its debut on Thursday, November 28.

“Two college freshmen make a pact to break up with their high school sweethearts over Thanksgiving break, leading them on a chaotic night out in their hometown that puts their codependent friendship to the test,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the Sweethearts trailer?

The trailer features two childhood best friends who can’t seem to enjoy college due to the demands of their respective long-distance relationships. Because of this, they decide to break up with their high school sweethearts in hopes of finally making new memories in college. The video highlights the chaotic situations they will find themselves in before they can break up with their respective lovers.

Sweethearts is directed by Dollface creator Jordan Weiss from a screenplay he co-wrote with Dan Brier. This marks Weiss’ feature directorial debut. The ensemble cast will also include Nico Hiraga (Booksmart), Caleb Hearon (Human Resources), Tramell Tillman (Severance), Ava Demary (After Yang), Charlie Hall (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Joel Kim Booster (Search Party), Christine Taylor (Zoolander), Jake Bongiovi (Rockbottom), and more.

The film is produced by Erik Feig and Jessica Switch for Picturestart, with Julia Hammer, Samie Kim Falvey, Shayne Fiske Goldner, Jordan Weiss, and Dan Brier set as executive producers. It is a production by New Line Cinema and Picturestart.
