Actress Rita Edochie Calls Out Married Men Keeping Exes as Best Friends
Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has expressed her disapproval of married men who maintain friendships with their ex-partners.
In a post on her Instagram account, she highlighted the criticism she faces for voicing her opinions, questioning the rationale behind a married man choosing to keep his ex as a close friend.
“The Next thing now una go begin to do second wife matter. As a married man, you are busy keeping female besties. Your ex for that matter, if I talk now una go say Ijele you dey worry. Imagine going back to your vomit, if you love and value your relationship with your ex a lot, why didn’t you end up with her?
“Why drop her? Call her your ex, marry an entirely different woman. Then go back to relate with that same ex while still married to your wife? Have you thought about the mental and emotional stress it imposes on the women you lawfully wedded? Hmmmmm. Just hmmm.”
In a veiled reference to Judy Austin, she remarked on how she entered Yul Edochie’s life under the guise of being a best friend and colleague.
Rita Edochie urged men to prioritize their wives as their sole best friends and to cease self-deception.
“Goat and yam no dey stay together simple. This was how that other one came in with colleague and bestie format, why have a woman as your bestie or personal assistant? Listen, as a married man, your only female bestie should be your wife.
“All these single ladies claiming besties to married men, all of una be side chicks to that man. You can’t be with him, locked up alone in one room and not do one or two. Nothing person want to tell me biko. Stop deceiving yourselves.”
She further advised men to abandon any illusions, emphasizing that once a woman becomes an ex, they should redirect their focus to their wives. “Imagine your ex visiting your matrimonial home to cook for you as a married woman,” she bemoaned.
The seasoned actress conveyed her frustration and anger, stating, “If you want to gain a better understanding of what I am saying, go to my great daughter’s YouTube channel, ‘Mercy Johnson Okojie TV’ to watch the movie ‘Scent of A Woman’, then come back and tell me what you think. Ndi ala ndi ala,” Rita Edochie said
