Regina Askia responds to criticism for backing VDM Over Defamatory Post About
Former Nollywood actress Regina Askia believes that legal expert Femi Falana can choose to pursue a defamation case against social critic Martin Otse, known as Very Dark Man, or resolve it in his own way. However, she feels that the main issues that caused the defamatory comments seem to have been ignored.
On October 14, an Ikeja High Court ordered VDM to remove his defamatory posts about the Falanas and instructed the Falanas to deliver their defamation suit through his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.
A misleading report circulated on social media, stating that the court ordered VDM to pay a N500m fine to the Falanas.
In response, Regina posted on her Instagram, questioning the truth of the fine and why no action was taken against the person behind the claims in the audio tape released by VDM.
However, some users in her comments criticized her for “spreading a negative narrative” about the situation.
In response to the criticism she faced, Regina claimed that VDM is being unfairly blamed, while the real problem, which is the information in the audiotape he shared, seems to be ignored.
