EPL: Bookies install new favourites to win title after Man City draw at Newcastle

Arsenal have been installed as the new favourites to win the 2024/2025 Premier League title by Betfair.

This comes after Manchester City dropped points at Newcastle United in their first fixture without the injured Rodri.

City took the lead through Josko Gvardiol, but the Magpies levelled thanks to Anthony Gordon’s second-half penalty.

The Gunners took advantage of the champions dropping points, claiming a 4-2 victory over Leicester City.

Betfair are now offering 11/8 odds for Arsenal to clinch the title for the first time in 21 years.

The UK bookmakers posted on their website: “Arsenal are the new, and clear, favourites to win the Premier League title after a dramatic victory at home to Leicester, just hours after Manchester City dropped points at Newcastle.

“Today’s results mean that both Arsenal and Manchester City are locked together at the top of the table (before Liverpool and Aston Villa’s games) on 14 points, so the fact that the Gunners are now clear favourites to win the title means that Betfair punters clearly believe that Rodri’s long-term absence will hinder the defending champions.”
