Tim Curry Acting Return Set in Horror Movie Stream
Hollywood legend and renowned horror icon Tim Curry is gearing up for his return to the big screen — in a spooky movie, no less. Over a decade after his last feature film role, the actor will appear on the silver screen once again with the upcoming horror movie Stream.
More than 50 years after The Rocky Horror Picture Show debuted in 1975, the veteran actor makes his horror return with Stream. This also comes after Curry’s last role in 2010 in the black comedy Burke & Hare.
When is Stream coming out?
Written, directed, and produced by Michael Leavy, Stream hits select theaters on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Apart from Curry’s iconic Dr. Frank-N-Furter role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the actor is also known for playing Pennywise in It.
In a statement shared with Variety, the director said that Curry’s involvement in the film was a secret that was hard to keep.
“We are so happy and thrilled to bring Tim back to the movies and back to the big screen! His charm always radiates and shines through everything he does and we are so honored to have him a part of ‘Stream’! He is someone I have idolized personally growing up and it is one of the major highlights of my life getting to work with him, especially on a project that means so much to me,” said Leavy.
Curry’s notable feature credits include Muppet Treasure Island, Legend, Clue, Congo, Times Square, Annie, Kinsey, The Hunt for Red October, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and The Three Musketeers, among others.
After suffering from a serious stroke in 2012, Curry has shifted his focus to voice acting, including in Gingerclown, Saving Santa, Axel: The Biggest Little Hero, Ribbit, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and more.
