Altar: A24 Reveals New Horror Movie Starring Kyle Maclachlan and January Jones
A24 has revealed its latest horror movie, Altar, by Russian filmmaker Egor Abramenko. It features Kyle Maclachlan and January Jones among its cast members.
It was written by Westworld’s Will Soodik and based on a short story by Philip Fricassi. The plot of Altar is still largely unknown. However, what is known is that it’s a horror film about a young boy who is forced to grow up faster than he ever imagined during one fateful summer.
Who else is in the Altar cast?
Joining Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Fallout) and January Jones (Mad Men) are David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer), Lily Collias (Good One), and newcomer Hudson Behling.
Altar filmmaker Egor Abramenko is an award-winning director of commercials and music videos from some of the biggest names. Those include Google, Visa, BMW, and Budweiser.
Abramenko made his feature film debut with the 2020 sci-fi horror gem Sputnik. It was adapted from his 2017 short The Passenger. Matt Reeves was lined up to produce an English-language remake back in 2021.
Sputnik is set at the height of the Cold War. It sees a Soviet spacecraft crash land after a mission gone awry, leaving the commander as its only survivor. After a renowned Russian psychologist is brought in to evaluate the commander’s mental state, it becomes clear that something dangerous may have come back to Earth with him…
There are no details on Altar’s production or release date at this time.
