Transfer: ‘Very good option’ – Wes Brown reacts to Man Utd’s latest signing

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has reacted to the club’s signing of Joshua Zirkzee.

Brown expressed confidence that Zirkzee can help fellow striker Rasmus Hojlund shine at Man United, adding that the 23-year-old is a very good option.

Man United recently signed the Dutchman from Bologna for £33 million.

“I am very happy with it; he’s definitely a player that we need and he’s a young lad,” Brown told the Euro Thrash podcast.

“I think he’s going to be good and it is going to be interesting. Hojlund hasn’t scored enough goals; it’s as simple as that.

“Everything else in his game is good. It is good that there is now a small battle between the two to see who is going to be playing. It is a very good option and an option that we needed.

“Last season, if we needed an option, we had to go into the youth team.”
