Dune: Prophecy Cast Adds Indian Actress Tabu, Role Detailed
Max’s prequel series Dune: Prophecy has cast Indian actress Tabu in a recurring role, according to Variety. The actress is set to play the role of Sister Francesca, a character described as “strong, intelligent,” and “alluring.”
“Strong, intelligent, and alluring, Sister Francesca leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital,” the character description reads.
Tabu is one of Indian cinema’s most prominent and successful actresses. The award-winning actress is known for starring in a slew of Hindi features, including Crew, Khufiya, Cheeni Kum, Hera Pheri, Maachis, Chandni Bar, Andhadhun, Maqbool, Haider, and more. She also starred as Gita Patel in Life of Pi, Ashima Ganguli in The Namesake, and Saeeda Bai in the British miniseries A Suitable Boy.

Previously under the title Dune: The Sisterhood, Dune: Prophecy — set in Frank Herbert’s Dune universe — is solely inspired by the Sisterhood of Dune novel written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The series will follow the Harkonnen sisters as they battle every force threatening humankind’s future.
“Set within the expansive universe of ‘Dune,’ created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit,” the synopsis reads (via Variety).
