Final Destination 6 Cast Set for Latest Entry in Horror Franchise
The upcoming sixth entry of the Final Destination franchise, titled Final Destination: Bloodlines, has officially found its cast of young stars.
According to the latest entry in Borys Kit’s Heat Vision newsletter for The Hollywood Reporter, Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Teo Briones (Chucky), and Kaitlyn Santa Juana (Dear Evan Hansen’s stage production) are all attached to lead the film, which is said to now be in production in Vancouver.
Bassinger came to fame as a star on Nickelodeon’s Bella and the Bulldogs. Briones is best known for his role in Chucky, where he portrayed Junior Wheeler in the first season. Santa Juana starred in the hit musical Dear Evan Hansen’s second North American National Tour, and has also appeared in episodes of The Flash and Grendel.
The latest entry in the horror franchise is set to be directed by Freaks filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein.
When is Final Destination: Bloodlines coming out?
While no release date has been set yet for Final Destination: Bloodlines, the latest reports suggest that the film could hit theaters sometime in 2025 to mark the franchise’s 25th anniversary. The first installment — starring Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Kerr Smith, and Tony Todd — first graced cinemas back in 2000.
“After a long, hard slog through the pandemic and the strikes, Day One is finally in the can. 2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the first installment in the franchise. To honor the occasion with another worldwide theatrical release (in IMAX, no less) is a rare and wonderful thing,” Perry wrote.
The sixth Final Destination film, which was previously announced in 2019, was put on hold due to the pandemic.
