Fear Street: Prom Queen Sees Ariana Greenblatt Join the Cast of Netflix’s Horror Movie
After the first wave of cast members for Netflix’s Fear Street: Prom Queen was announced yesterday, it’s been revealed Barbie and Love & Monsters star Ariana Greenblatt also has a role in the latest R. L. Stine adaptation.
Fear Street’s Newest Resident is Ariana Greenblatt
Greenblatt, who will soon be seen again on the big screen in Eli Roth’s Borderlands adaptation as Tiny Tina, was spotted on set in Toronto, with One Take News confirming she is indeed part of the cast.
Greenblatt made her acting debut in Nickelodeon show Liv and Maddie and later landed the role of young Gamora in Avengers Infinity War. Her blockbuster credentials have only grown since then with roles in Adam Driver Dino movie 65, and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.
Yesterday, Variety reported that the cast included India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, and Chris Klein, with Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston.
Netflix previously released a trilogy of Fear Street movies in 2021, which featured Stranger Things star Sadie Sink among its cast.
In Fear Street: Prom Queen it’s Prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown,” reads the official logline. “But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.
The Fear Street series has been a long-running gateway horror series for young readers and has amassed more than 150 entries. Its author, R.L. Stine, is most famous for the Goosebumps series, which has been the subject of several adaptations over the years, including a Disney Plus television series late last year, which has a second season on the way.
