Pinocchio Unstrung: First Details on Horror Movie From Blood and Honey Filmmakers
The filmmakers behind 2023’s surprise horror hit Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, and the upcoming Bambi: The Reckoning, and Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare have given a first glimpse at Pinocchio Unstrung, the latest in its ”children’s stories gone wrong” catalog.

Bloody Disgusting was given an exclusive first-look tease of the film by Jagged Edge Productions with art and a title treatment.
The art is a drawing that will be featured in the credits of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, putting out the tendrils that will likely grow this low-budget horror universe. The film’s producers told Bloody Disgusting that “Unannounced characters from the universe will be revealed in sketch drawings in the closing credits of Pooh 2, so keep an eye out!”
The director and cast are yet to be confirmed, but Jagged Edge has stated they will be announced shortly. Pinocchio Unstrung will go into production this summer, aiming for a theatrical release in late 2024.
Public domain horror is a hot commodity at the moment, especially after Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey did surprisingly well on a minuscule budget. The Steamboat Willie version of Mickey Mouse entered the public domain this month and has already seen multiple horror spins on that iteration of the beloved Disney mascot.
