The New Look Trailer: Ben Mendelsohn Is Christian Dior in Apple TV+ Period Drama
Apple TV+ has released the official The New Look trailer for upcoming historical drama which follows the rivalry between fashion icons Christian Dior and Coco Chanel.
The video provides a preview of how Ben Mendelsohn’s Dior will bring new life to women’s clothing amid the ongoing World War II. The 10-episode series is scheduled to start streaming on February 14.

What is The New Look about?
Set against the World War II Nazi occupation of Paris, The New Look focuses on the pivotal moment in the 20th century when the French city led the world back to life through its fashion icon Christian Dior,” reads the synopsis. “As Dior rises to prominence with his groundbreaking, iconic imprint of beauty and influence, Chanel’s reign as the world’s most famous fashion designer is put into jeopardy. The interwoven saga follows the surprising stories of Dior’s contemporaries and rivals from Chanel to Pierre Balmain, Cristóbal Balenciaga and more; and, provides a stunning view into the atelier, designs and clothing created by Christian Dior through collaboration with the House of Dior.”
Inspired by true events, The New Look is written, directed, and executive produced by Todd A. Kessler (The Sopranos). Joining Mendelsohn are Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel, Maisie Williams as Catherine Dior, John Malkovich as Lucien Lelong, Emily Mortimer as Elsa Lombardi, Claes Bang as Spatz, Glenn Close as Carmel Snow, Thomas Poitevin as Pierre Balmain, Nuno Lopes as Cristóbal Balenciaga, and more.
The series is executive produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Baker, with Apple Studios and DB-AK Productions producing. It will feature an immersive and contemporary soundtrack for the series is curated and produced by Grammy Award winner Jack Antonoff.
