Actor Christian Oliver Dies Alongside 2 Daughters in Plane Crash

German actor Christian Oliver was involved in a tragic plane crash near a Caribbean island on Thursday, in which he, his two daughters, and the pilot of the plane died.

According to a statement from the Royal St. Vincent and Grenadines Police Force on Friday (via Variety), the 51-year-old Oliver — real name Christian Klepser — his daughters Madita Klepser, 10, and Annik Klepser, 12, and pilot Robert Sachs died in the crash, of which they were the only passengers on board the small, one-engine plane owned by Sachs.

The vehicle crashed one nautical mile west of Petit Nevis, a tiny island in the Grenadines, after leaving from J.F. Mitchell Airport in Paget Farm, Bequia en route to St. Lucia.

“Moments after taking off, the aircraft experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean,” the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force wrote in a statement. “Fishermen and divers from Paget Farm went to the scene of the incident in their boats to render assistance. The SVG Coast Guard was informed and quickly traveled to Paget Farm, Bequia, to lead in the rescue efforts.”

Oliver had many credits to his name as an actor, most recently appearing in the 2023 film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. He also appeared in the 2008 Speed Racer film as Snake Oiler, the Netflix series Sense8, and more.
