Somewhere in Dreamland: Gossip Girls’ Whitney Peak to Lead Horror Movie
According to Variety, Gossip Girl revival star Whitney Peak has been tapped for the leading role in the upcoming supernatural horror film titled Somewhere in Dreamland, which hails from music video director Colin Tilley. Production on the project has already been completed.
Peak is no stranger to the horror genre, as she previously appeared as one of the main characters in Disney Plus’s Hocus Pocus 2. Her other notable acting credits include the 2017 film Molly’s Game and the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
What to Expect in Somewhere in Dreamland?
Somewhere in Dreamland will serve as the feature directorial debut of Tilley, who’s known for directing music videos for several famous artists including Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Britney Spears, and more. In addition to Peak, the film has also enlisted four cast members in the form of Law and Order’s S. Epatha Merkerson, Bridgerton’s Golda Rosheuvel, True Detective’s Finn Bennett, and newcomer Laken Giles.
“The film follows Anna (Peak), who is grieving the sudden death of her parents when she relocates from New York to a small Florida town to live with the grandmother (Merkerson) she’s never met,” reads the synopsis. “Isolated, she falls in with some other teens, but when she becomes a bystander to a shocking act of violence, she finds herself ensnared by Mr. Sandman, who haunts bullies’ dreams before feasting on their eyeballs when they wake up. So that all sounds pretty grisly.”
The film is written by Michael Tully, based on the original graphic novel by Elise Victoria. It is produced by Tim Headington, Theresa Steele Page, Rachael Fung, and Nate Kamiya, with David Darby, Lauren Shelton, Elisa Victoria, and Susan Kirr attached as executive producers. It hails from Ley Line Entertainment.
