Retribution Trailer Showcases New Liam Neeson Thriller

The official Retribution trailer for Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions’ upcoming action thriller has been revealed, starring Liam Neeson. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 25.

The video features Neeson as a bank executive who must find a way to save his and his children’s lives after discovering that someone has placed a bomb under their car. The bomb will activate if they decided to leave the car. The mysterious caller also frames him for the death of his best friend, which makes his situation more complicated.

What is Retribution about?

“When a mysterious caller puts a bomb under his car seat, Matt Turner (Neeson) begins a high-speed chase across the city to complete a specific series of tasks,” reads the synopsis. “With his kids trapped in the back seat and a bomb that will explode if they get out of the car, a normal commute becomes a twisted game of life or death as Matt follows the stranger’s increasingly dangerous instructions in a race against time to save his family.”

Retribution is directed by Nimrod Antal from a screenplay written by Christopher Salmanpour. It is described as an immersive ticking clock thriller that straps audiences in for a high-octane ride of redemption and revenge.

Joining Neeson are Matthew Modine (Stranger Things), Noma Dumezweni (The Little Mermaid), Jack Champion (Avatar: The Way of Water), Lilly Aspell, Embeth Davidtz (Schindler’s List), and Arian Moayed (Succession). Producers are Andrew Rona, Alex Heineman, Jaume Collet-Serra, and Juan Sola.
